A/N: the ficlet takes place two years after FN, transgenics are "legit", which means they're tolerated more than accepted, but at least they’re left alone by the government. In my mind Max and Logan are still together – although the virus is still between them – but if you read hints at Alec/Max... let's just say that wouldn't be out of place either ;)

A/N: Witten for the jam_pony_fic ficathon (I don't know if we're supposed to post them or not...?). For alyse, whose prompts were:

1. Max and Alec, first time. I'd like something slow and sweet, with the idea that first Max grows to trust him, then to care for him, and that the feeling is mutual.

2. Alec, Original Cindy and Joshua save the world! Preferably Max/Alec but I'll take gen :) Also, if you manage to get Normal saving the world alongside them it would entertain me muchly.

3. Joshua and Alec friendship fic, building on the idea that Joshua is the only one who really sees Alec. Again, preferably Max/Alec but it doesn't need to be in your face and can be gen if you'd prefer.

I think this is pretty angsty, I don't think it's exactly what she may have been hoping for, but hopefully you enjoy it anyways. Oh, and I chose to do a little bit of the first and third one. Unfortunately there's no smut here. There may be a rewrite in the future, but I'm just not in the right mood to write smut right now.

A/N 2: This is also in response to the Raising Hell prompt : "They say dreams are necessary to life."

Contest Reminder

Hi-ho ficcers, apologies for my absence - November seems to be the month of assignments and DEATH here at the University of Leicester!

Just a quick reminder about this month's Contest - Life After the Bus Ride Out (Catchy, hm? I needed something to put on the banner). It's still open! The original closing date was to be November 30th, but as yet we've had no entries and November is NaNo WriMo month. What would the reaction be if we started setting the contests every other month? It would give people more time to write their entries at any rate. Comment and let me know! Or, y'know, e-mail me (clairebunny(at)gmail(dot)com) if you don't want everyone else to see!

Write the after story of someone who had to leave Seattle. So many characters were on for an episode and then sent on their way, usually on the bus? Do they have a good life? Do they ever encounter one of their transgenic friends again? Do they come back? This is wide open. Just make sure you have a character that was sent on their way in the series.

So there you go, chaps. What about Kendra? Hannah? Hell, even Herbal (although I privately believe he hitched a lift on the TARDIS and went back in time to live out the rest of his days with Bob Marley). Asha, maybe?

Contest Reminder and other Modly Matters

Aloha, Ficcers!

Just a quick reminder for the current contest - Unadulterated Loathing - is still open for entries until October 31st. We've got four entries now, but there are 92 of us! That's a bit feeble, chaps!

For those who don't know the process, a poll with links to all the fics will go up on November 1st for 3 days. The winner will be announced on November 4th and then they have until November 6th at the very latest to come up with the topic for the next contest and e-mail it to me. The sooner the better! As well as that, they will be presented with a nifty little banner that they can use wherever they see fit to pimp their work and general awesomeness.

Welcome to all new people, by the way! It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to see this little community growing. I know I've been a bit absent lately, and I can make all the excuses in the world, but you guys don't really care, and I'm just pleased how well the comm's running without me.
