I wish to apologise for my extended absence. Work and sickness and school have made for very little time on the internet.

This is the main reason for this post. I am advertising for a new moderator. It's not fair on you to have to keep waiting for me to reappear during term time. If anyone is interested, please contact me (clairebunny @ gmail . com) and I will give them any further details they need.

Hi-ho, ficcers!

As you all should know, the Ficathon entries should be being posted from Monday. I will put the Masterlist post up on Sunday night and it will be updated throughout the week with links to all the ficathon entries. Please make sure to clearly mark your fics as ficathon entries, and also to say who the fic is for. This will make it easier for me to collect the list together.


Once all the ficathon entries are in - and as I've had no requests for extensions I'm assuming they should all be in by the end of next week - I'll re-start the last Contest, Life After the Bus Ride Out, which was put on hold due to NaNo and Christmas etc. Entries for that will be due in at the end of February.


One final note, please remember to tag your posts. There's a list of tags in the community profile and if you want any more tags adding, please email me and let me know - I don't bite!

Well Ficcers, as we all know - the lovel savannahjan won the last contest, and was set the task of coming up with a challenge for this month's one!

Write the after story of someone who had to leave Seattle. So many characters were on for an episode and then sent on their way, usually on the bus? Do they have a good life? Do they ever encounter one of their transgenic friends again? Do they come back? This is wide open. Just make sure you have a character that was sent on their way in the series.

So there you go, chaps. What about Kendra? Hannah? Hell, even Herbal (although I privately believe he hitched a lift on the TARDIS and went back in time to live out the rest of his days with Bob Marley). Asha, maybe?

Aloha, Ficcers!

Just a quick reminder for the current contest - Unadulterated Loathing - is still open for entries until October 31st. We've got four entries now, but there are 92 of us! That's a bit feeble, chaps!

For those who don't know the process, a poll with links to all the fics will go up on November 1st for 3 days. The winner will be announced on November 4th and then they have until November 6th at the very latest to come up with the topic for the next contest and e-mail it to me. The sooner the better! As well as that, they will be presented with a nifty little banner that they can use wherever they see fit to pimp their work and general awesomeness.


Welcome to all new people, by the way! It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to see this little community growing. I know I've been a bit absent lately, and I can make all the excuses in the world, but you guys don't really care, and I'm just pleased how well the comm's running without me.


In other news, I've been toying with the idea of a ficathon to try and really kickstart the rest of you sleepy ficcers out there.

Just a reminder ficcers! One day left in the current Contest.

As with last time, the poll will go up on September 1st and it'll be up for three days. The winner will be announced on the 4th, and then I will get in contact with them for the topic of the next contest, which I'll need by September 6th at the very latest. If you can get it back to me on the 4th, that would be great.


There's a chance that next month's contest might have a bit of an extension, due to the fact that I move into my dorms on October 1st. Hopefully I should be able to get the poll up before I go, but if not I'll post a notice and it'll be a two-month contest.

In the spirit of our favorite sidelined and minor Dark Angel characters that we all know and love:

At some point within the fic... Sketchy has to beat Alec in a pool game.

But how?

Sketch distracts Alec with someone pretty of questionable gender? Rigs the table? Slips Alec some rufies? Alec has some mobsters watching and has to lose or they'll catch on to his hustling... ? Maybe Alec set him up. Or maybe Max keeps knocking his elbow every time he makes a shot just for the hell of it? Is Alec just wasted? Maybe Alec lets him win because of... why? Did Sketchy ask Alec to take a dive so he could be all sorts of cool for a lovely someone that might be watching?

Use any of that or ignore it all to insert your own way here! ;)

It can be from any character's POV, S1-S2!

It can be a happy or sad or totally neutral ending, but Sketchy comes out in the end with the dirty wad of cash and a smile or a frown.
