I hope to keep things rolling (actively) throughout the year, so please use this time to offer suggestions. What do you want to see here on
jam_pony_fic? What activities would you participate in? What challenges have you seen in other fandoms, comms that you think might work here?
Throwing out a few ideas to discuss - a quarterly newsletter? A Dark Angel bingo? A fic exchange?
((Side note, I'm back at work tomorrow and I think I'm sick - though I have to work so I'm ignoring it! This just means I might be a little slow in replying))

Date: 2012-01-03 02:17 am (UTC)Another thought occurred when I saw the reverse big bang suggestion below. It reminded me of a challenge a couple of years ago (I can't remember for definite which fandom, possibly Leverage, and I've never seen it done again since but I seem to remember it came up with a bunch of fics at the time). There were a selection of visual prompts left that anyone could pick one (or multiples) to write to - I think expectation was to write between 1000 and 5000 words per prompt chosen for the most part. The visual prompts were a mix of screencaps and random photos and art. Anyone could claim any of them - so multiple people could write to each prompt and interpret it in their own way.
Look forward to seeing what ideas come out of this - I'm certainly looking for reasons to write in the coming year. ;D

So it'd sort of be like a comment-fic meme, but the prompts are art/pics instead of written, with somewhat higher word count expectations? That would be amazing. I'm totally on board with things that don't have hard deadlines, too, 'cause deadlines are not my friend. ;) Fantastic suggestion! All the cookies for youuuu.
