[identity profile] dollarformyname.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] jam_pony_fic
Sorry I didn't get a chance to do the theme poll. Things have been kind of hectic, so I just closed my eyes and pointed.

Remember that recs go in the comments of THIS post. Please DO NOT post recs directly to the comm in separate posts.

RULES:

You can rec any fanwork relating to Dark Angel, as long as it fits this month's theme: post Freak Nation. Meaning anything set after the end of the show. Easy, right?

Recs can be new or old, as some of us are still new to the fandom and haven't seen it all yet. We'd love to see classics as much as the more recent stuff, so dig deep into those bookmarks and rec away.

One rec per comment. There's no limit to how many recs you can post, though, so go crazy.

No self-recs, please.

WIP recs are allowed. Just mention that it's a WIP somewhere in your notes, for those wary of that kind of thing.

How to rec:

Your subject line should list the type of fanwork (fic, art, etc.), title, and the author/artist/source. Like so: FIC: Title by Author -- ART: Untitled by Artist -- VID: Title by Vidder -- META: Title by Author, etc. etc..

Use this form to comment:

EXAMPLE REC:

FIC: Unwritten by dollarformyname

Title: Unwritten
Author/Artist/Source: [livejournal.com profile] dollarformyname
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: none listed
Genre/Pairing: Gen. Humor.
Word Count: none listed; one-shot
Summary/Description: White shows up at the gates of Terminal City with no memory of who he is. All he knows is that he's a superpowered freak being chased around by mobs, who should fit right in with a whole group of superpowered freaks behind their safe, heavily-guarded fences. The transgenics disagree.

Reccer's Comments: This would be the be an awesome story if it existed. SOMEONE WRITE IT FOR REAL.

Also, LURKERS. It's your time to shine! You know, secretly. :P Anonymous comments are enabled, and IP logging is off for the moment. So don't be shy and come play with us! Or, you know, do be shy, but still come play. :)

Don't forget that you can always go here to suggest more themes, any time, as many times as you want.

This post will be open all month. I'll probably close it out around March 5th or so, but I'll try to pimp it regulary throughout that time so that, hopefully, no one misses it.

Questions? Comments? Fire away. And feel free to second other people's recs, add your own comments about why everyone should check it out, engage in general squee, etc..

HAVE FUN!

Title: Loose The Hounds (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4639908/1/Loose_the_Hounds)
Author/Artist/Source: aflightoffancy (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1276775/aflightoffancy)
Rating: T (on fanfiction.net)
Warnings: Some violence and language
Genre/Pairing: Max/Alec
Word Count: Long fic, 12 chapters (Word count on ff.net says 38,608)
Summary/Description: A deadly riot is the catalyst for all kinds of change in Terminal City.

Reccer's Comments: "Loose the Hounds" and its sequels (Dogs of War, Dog Will Have His Day, and Leash Laws) are all centered around Alec and Max realizing their feelings for each other, while dealing with running Terminal City and dealing with the government and the threat of the Familiars and the far reaching after effects of Manticore. They are packed full of hurt/comfort, adventure, cameos by various canon characters as well as orgininal characters. The Max/Alec pairing is the focus, and while I can't quite decide if I actually ship those two or not, I quite enjoyed all the stories. I would reccomend looking at all of this author's stories - they are all MA and post Freak Nation with lots of hurt/comfort, but there a many different stories that are used to get the characters together. And did I mention hurt/comfort?
